Li River Cruise is also popular among tourists to Guilin in September. It is a little cool in this month. To enjoy the cruise will be comfortable as it is neither hot nor cold with little rain. The karst mountains along the Li River is usually decorated with some golden and green leaves in September. As September is the first month of the schooling year in China, the number of the passengers is usually a little smaller than that in July and August. It may be better to take the Li River cruise in September.
As fewer and fewer Chinese tourists take the cruise in September, there are a little fewer cruise boats on the Li River in September. But the 3-star and 4-star cruise boats always run daily from Guilin to Yangshuo. The luxury Li River boat is operated on schedule but not every day in this month. Usually, the Mid-Autumn Festival comes into September. Therefore, if you want to enjoy the cruise in a quieter surrounding, it is not recommended that you take it during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Generally speaking, the 3-star boat with a simple Chinese packaged lunch onboard leaves from Mopanshan Pier in Guiin and arrives at Longtoushan Pier in Yangshuo. The 4-star and the luxury Li River cruise boats offering the Chinese buffet lunch on the boat start from Zhujiang Pier in Guilin and end at Shuidongmen Pier in Yangshuo. If you are a vegan, it is strongly recommended that you bring your own food with you to the boat.
